Kits-BabeHealth Situation
In 1996, Kits-Babe, a 17-year-old male Siamese cat, was diagnosed with advanced kidney and liver disease. The vet believed there would be no improvement and had suggested euthanasia.
Assessment
When Leslie was contacted she proposed the caretaker do two fundamental things. Knowing that an emotionally positive environment is extremely important in supporting the healing process, Leslie first suggested that Kits-Babe be brought home.
Understanding that maintaining proper hydration is vital for felines with kidney disease Leslie next suggested that the caretaker ask to be instructed in giving Kits-Babe subcutaneous fluids. The caretaker learned this simple process easily.
Once Kits-Babe arrived home he was very cooperative with the in-home care he received. In conjunction with the hydration therapy, Leslie also provided him Reiki treatments coupled with healing and communication work to facilitate his healing process. As Kits-Babe began improving Leslie taught the caretaker about the values of feeding a homemade diet. When Kits-Babe's appetite returned the homemade food fueled his steady improvement.
Result
Kits-Babe made a complete recovery and enjoyed a quality life for several more years.
